Title One Math Services:
Our goal is to provide extra math support for any students who are in need of extra practice and teacher support. Some students will need to boost their basic computation skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts) while others struggle with more complex math problems. We work with classroom teachers and our EBIS team to determine what kind of math support is best for an individual student. This math support could look like the following:
1. Reflex Math: This is a completely individualized, online, math facts program where your child works at his/her pace at his/her appropriate level. This program can be used at home and at school. We also offer a Monday and Wednesday TEAF class that give students an opportunity for extra math practice.
2. Number Worlds: This is a math intervention curriculum intended to support students who are working one to two levels below grade level. We run this program during the day when possible, but we also offer an invitation only after school class for Number Worlds. This program is taught by the Title I math teacher or an instructional assistant.
3. IXL: This online math programs can be used at home and at school. Many teachers provide opportunities to use IXL in class, but we also offer a Monday and Wednesday TEAF class where students can get extra math practice using these programs.
4. In-Class extra math support: Based on a particular student's needs, we may provide preferential seating during math or 10-15 minutes of additional one-on-one or small group practice with the classroom teacher or a Title I staff member.
You will be informed if your child is receiving any Title One math support. Students in need of math support are identified through CBM math facts assessments and classroom and grade-level assessments given throughout the school year.
